Wow!!! Thanks to YOUR amazing show of support, the Kickstarter campaign was a huge success! I am delighted to announce that the “Vintage songs from Canada’s Countryside” Kickstarter project has been fully funded at 130%! The album will be released early in 2015.
You have energized and inspired me to make this project a reality. Thank you!
Incredible singers whose music I love backed this project – Nuala Kennedy, Brían Ó hÁirt, Emanuelle and Pastelle LeBlanc of Vishten, Máirtín de Cógáin, Liz Simmons, Ross Sutter and Bob Walser.
Great traditional instrumentalists backed this project – Mairi Rankin, Fiona Black, Brent Chiasson, Pierre Schryer, Solon McDade, Adam Kiesling, Michael Gavin, Deirde Ní Chonghaile, Mary Varnorny, Dan Neely, Sean Clohessy, Nathan Gourley, Laura Fedderson and Dave Cammack.
My two most influential recorder teachers backed this project – Thank you Natalie and Mary Ann (and Robert)! I am so touched by your support.
Significant support came from Leah Evison, Ken Golder, Lisa Forrette, the O’Connors and Mary Ann Franson and from the many members of my large and loving family!
Weighty support came from students, friends of the Center for Irish Music and the Celtic Junction in Saint Paul. I am deeply grateful for this supportive community that shares a passion for traditional irish music (and the work ethic to keep it thriving). You are amazing people.
And there were many good friends and acquaintances from years past who jumped in! How fun to reconnect with you in this way.
The new album, “Spinning Yarns” is indeed spinning up a storm, the mixing and graphic design is well under way. Thanks for sharing, pledging, video editing, and correspondence.
Thanks to all one hundred and seventy six of you! We did it!
